With low sales: Chevrolet reduces Equinox EV by R$ 90 thousand: CARS WITH CAMANZI

With only 28 units sold in the year, the electric vehicle has a strong reduction to become more competitive compared to the competition

Chevrolet drastically reduced the value of the Equinox EV in Brazil. The model, which was offered at R$440,190, can now be purchased for R$349,990 after not selling as expected. The price drop is GM’s response to the recent launches of electrically powered models.

With 443 km of autonomy, 292 hp of power and 46 kgfm of torque, the North American electric vehicle struggles in the market with competitors that offer practically the same level of efficiency for less. This is the case of the newly arrived Geely EX5, which for R$ 225,800 reaches 413 km on a charge, offering 218 hp and 32.6 kgfm of torque.

The new positioning is Chevrolet’s strategy for the Equinox EV to have more significant sales, as is also expected for its larger electric Blazer EV. The latter continues to be offered for R$503,190.

Returning to the electric Equinox, Chevrolet offers the SUV in just one version, with an 85 kWh battery and two electric motors, one on each axle, which take the car from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. With direct current (DC) recharging of up to 150 kW, the car needs 48 minutes to go from 15% to 80%. The automaker informs that alternating current (AC) of up to 22 kW takes 4h45 to complete 100%.

Among the standout standard equipment are ACC, blind spot warning, lane keeping assistant, autonomous braking and a camera system with 360-degree vision. Inside, the 11” digital panel and the 17.7” multimedia center stand out, which features native integration with Google services, allowing you to access Maps directly on the instrument panel.
