Hours before his passing, Asrani shared a final Instagram post wishing fans a Happy Diwali. He reposted a picture of diyas on a rangoli with “Happy Diwali” written on it. This last gesture left fans and fellow actors emotional, reflecting his warmth, humility, and lasting bond with audiences.

Speaking to ETimes, Asrani's manager, Mr. Thiba confirmed the shocking news and revealed details of the veteran star's final moments. He also informed us that the actor was laid to rest in a private ceremony, surrounded by his family.According to Mr. Thiba, the actor had been unwell for the past 15 days. “He was not feeling well and was admitted to Arogya Hospital four days ago due to breathing issues,” he shared.He went on to add, "He passed away at around 3 PM today. His last rites were performed at 8 PM today."“The family is back home now… very sad,” Mr. Thiba added.
