MICHAEL J. Fox has revealed how he had “tension” with one of his Back to the Future co-stars on set.
It’s been 40 years since the iconic movie was released, and saw Michael, now 64, shoot to international stardom as a teenage Marty McFly.

Back To The Future first appeared on the big screen in 1985 before returning for two sequels in 1989 and 1990.
The adventures saw Marty travelling through time in Doc’s time machine, visiting 1955 to undo a major mistake that stopped his parents falling in love – threatening his very existence.
Subsequent films saw the pair visiting a very futuristic 2015 and the Wild West of 1885.
Michael mainly starred opposite Christopher Lloyd, who played Doc, who he got on famously with, and still remains friends with to this day.
However, he has admitted that he sometimes found shooting scenes with Crispin Glover, who played Marty’s dad George McFly, could cause “tension” on set.
Michael reflects on working with his co-star in his newly released memoir, Future Boy: Back to the Future and My Journey Through the Space-Time Continuum.
“As George McFly, Crispin had his own ideas as to how and where his character should move,” Michael recalled.
He said this would often caused “tension” with writer Bob Gale and writer-director Bob Zemeckis.
“I loved working with him. His talent was unquestionable, although his methods sometimes created friction,” Michael added.
“Still, I respected how he remained true to George (as he understood and embodied him).”
Continuing, he said: “I knew Crispin Glover prior to Back to the Future. I wouldn’t, however, say I was prepared to act with him — there’s no way to prepare for Crispin.”
Meanwhile, last year Lea Thompson, who played Marty’s mom admitted that she did not “hit it off” with Michael,
The 64-year-old, who appeared in all three films, also explained the reason behind their rift.
Lea played Lorraine Baines-McFly in the film trilogy.
The actress opened up to Steve Kmetko on the Still Here Hollywood podcast about their working relationship.
Steve asked: “Did you hit it off with Michael J. Fox right away?”
Lea said: “Probably not because I was friends with Eric Stoltz who had just gotten fired.
“I had already done a movie called The Wildlife with him. So he was a friend of mine.
“Then I did Some Kind of Wonderful and After.
“I remember specifically being really snooty because there was a really big division between movie stars and TV stars at that point.”
She added: “I remember being like he’s just a TV star and I’m a movie star. I was in Jaws 3D.
“It took me a while to warm up to him.”
Meanwhile, Michael was at the height of his fame when he learned that he had young-onset Parkinson’s, which led him to start losing control of his body.
After getting the diagnosis, he shared the news with his wife who held him in her arms as they wept.
His wife Tracy told him at the time: “You’re not any different than you were yesterday. It’s kind of easy to forget because nothing’s changed.”
Michael tried to forget about his condition by focusing on his work, he told People last year.
At the same time, he was dealing with his addiction to alcohol.

While he cut back on his drinking when he married Tracy in 1988, he began drinking wine by the bottle once again.
