A document supposedly intended for Honda dealers began to circulate on social media with all the details of the new CR-V.
According to the file, the new generation of the utility can now begin to be billed by resellers and will have a suggested public price of R$179,900.
The increase of more than 20% compared to the previous model (sold for R$ 148 thousand) is explained by the adoption of new equipment and, especially, by the change in production.
Now the CR-V is imported from the United States and collects 35% tax – the previous generation, made in Mexico, was exempt from this tax.
The new CR-V uses the same platform, engine and transmission as the Civic 1.5, but in the SUV the four-cylinder turbo has been recalibrated to reach 190 hp.
The transmission continues to be the automatic CVT, with all-wheel drive on demand.
If the information in the document is confirmed, the CR-V will become the most expensive Honda currently on sale in Brazil.
The utility will only be offered in a single version, the top of the line Touring.
Among its main equipment are fully LED headlights, electrically opening trunk lid, in-person key with push-button start, electric leather seats, 18-inch wheels and lane keeping assistant.
Even with the debut of the first active driving assistance equipment in a Honda in Brazil, it will not be this time that a car from the brand will be able to brake and accelerate alone.
Although the adaptive cruise control with automatic emergency braking is standard on the North American CR-V since the intermediate EX version, the package that will be sold in Brazil does not have the safety equipment.
Questioned by QUATRO RODAS about the documents, Honda sent the following statement:“Honda does not comment on future launches. All information about the CR-V and Civic Si models will be released at launch.”
The leak of information about the new CR-V occurred on the same day that other documents anticipated the price of the new Honda Civic Si.
