In keeping with the genre, the ceremony is scheduled to take place on October 31st, the spooky holiday Halloween. The 78 year old Englund became famous as a serial killer Freddy Krueger in the film series "Nightmare", in which he hunted his victims with a disfigured face and sharp claws.

Englund starred in more than 80 films and television series during his career. He could be seen on the side of Arnold Schwarzenegger in "Mr. Universe" and with Barbra Streisand in "A Star Is Born".
