It already smells like Christmas, at least among streaming platforms like Netflix, Disney+ and Prime Video. Thus, this week marks the debut of several new Christmas films, which promise to prepare film fans for the festive season to come.
From romances to comedies, there is a lot to see and devour in the coming days. Although Christmas is already the common theme, there are still several other films that you can enjoy if you are trying to avoid the end of year festivities.
One of the most anticipated sequels of the year is finally preparing to arrive on streaming. “A Crazier Day” takes place 22 years later, following Tess and Anna after they have gone through an identity crisis, Anna now has a daughter and a future stepdaughter. While facing the challenges that arise when two families merge, Tess and Anna discover that lightning can strike twice in the same place.
The popular sequel sees the return of duo Jamie Lee Curtis and Lindsay Lohan in the lead roles. Additionally, Mark Harmon, Chad Michael Murray and Christina Vidal, as well as Rosalind Chao and Lucille Soong also return for this new adventure.
Finally, Nisha Ganatra, known for “And Just Like That…” and “Dollface”, takes over as director, while Curtis and Lohan are part of the production team. The film also has several surprises in the cast, with the addition of Manny Jacinto, Julia Butters and Sophia Hammons. The feature film arrives on Disney+ streaming on November 12th.
In 19th century Massachusetts, the March sisters, Meg, Jo, Beth and Amy, find themselves on the threshold of womanhood. Thus, the four women go through many ups and downs in life and struggle to make important decisions about their future.
Greta Gerwig directs the Oscar-winning feature film, while Saoirse Ronan, Emma Watson, Florence Pugh and Eliza Scanlen take on the main roles. In addition, the cast also includes Laura Dern, Timothée Chalamet and Bob Odenkirk. The premiere of “Little Women” on HBO Max streaming takes place on November 13th.
“A Merry Little Ex-Mas” tells the story of a separated couple trying to celebrate one last Christmas with their children before their divorce. However, the husband's new girlfriend joins the festivities, causing tension and chaos during the festivities.
Steve Carr directed the new comedy with Oliver Hudson, Alicia Silverstone and Pierson Fode in the lead roles. Furthermore, the project also brings together Jameela Jamil, Timothy Innes and Linda Kash, as well as Melissa Joan Hart and Emily Hall. The film arrives on November 12th on Netflix streaming.
The three famous brothers race against time and face increasing challenges during a chaotic journey from London to New York. Desperate to get home in time for Christmas with their loved ones, the journey reveals many surprises for both the trio and their fans.
Jessica Yu directs the holiday feature film with Nick Jonas, Kevin Jonas and Joe Jonas, as well as Laverne Cox, KJ Apa, Billie Lourd and Chloe Bennet. “A Very Jonas Brothers Christmas” premieres on Disney+ streaming on November 14th.
“Playdate” tells the story of Brian, a man who has just been fired from his job. He then chooses to become a stay-at-home dad. However, he accepts an invitation to play with another father who stays at home, but who turns out to be a bit crazy.
Luke Greenfield directs the feature film with Alan Ritchson and Kevin James in the main roles. Additionally, Sarah Chalke, Alan Tudyk and Stephen Root, as well as Isla Fisher and Sarah Surh, complete the cast. The comedy premieres on Prime Video streaming on November 12th.
