This Diwali saw three Tamil films collide at the box office. Out of the three, Pradeep Ranganathan's 'Dude' fared better than Dhruv Vikram's 'Bison Kaalamaadan' and Harish Kalyan's 'Diesel'. While 'Dude' has earned Rs 30 crore nett (gross minus taxes) in three days, 'Bison' has collected approximately Rs 10 crore nett in India.
According to tracking website Sack girl'Dude' recorded the highest Sunday by earning Rs 10.50 crore nett in India. On Day 1 and Day 2, the film minted Rs 9.75 crore and Rs 10.30 crore nett in the country. The three-day total collection now stands at Rs 30.35 crore nett.
Director Mari Selvaraj's 'Bison Kaalamaadan' started its theatrical run on a slow note and is now picking up over the weekend. It has collected Rs 10.7 crore nett in India in three days. It registered its highest collection on Sunday, with a 47 per cent jump.
Going by the trade reports in Tamil Nadu, both films are doing well at the box office. With Diwali and Tuesday (October 21) being declared holidays, the two films will see houseful shows, which will register a record five-day opening weekend for the films.
