Nearly 40 years after its debut, Back to the Future returns to light up the big screen. On October 21st, on the occasion of the famous Back to the Future Day, the first chapter of the trilogy directed by Robert Zemeckis will be screened throughout Italy in a restored 4K version, distributed by Nexo Studios. This date is not random: October 21st is in fact the day on which Marty McFly travels to the future in the second film of the saga, becoming an international anniversary for all fans. Pre-sales are open from September 19th and the anticipation for this special event grows every day.

To celebrate the event, fans are invited to show up in the room with their outfits inspired by the characters of the saga — be it Marty's famous red vest, a mad scientist lab coat or the iconic Nike Mag shoes — to create a real collective party. Furthermore, the screening of the film integrates with the exhibition event “Back in Time – The Exhibition”, which will be open until 26 October 2025 in Marcallo con Casone (MI). The exhibition, organized by Infinity Events in collaboration with Back to the Future Italia APS, displays over 100 original memorabilia, including the famous DeLorean DMC12, the Volkswagen T2 of the Libyan terrorists, Biff's Ford and iconic scenographic reconstructions such as the Clock Tower and Lou's Cafe. Thanks to a special collaboration, cinema ticket holders will be able to purchase the exhibition ticket with a discount and vice versa. Part of the proceeds will be donated to the Team Fox Foundation, the association founded by Michael J. Fox to support Parkinson's research.

But what makes Back to the Future a timeless phenomenon, loved by different generations? Behind the scenes, the choice of the famous DeLorean was not random: its futuristic design and gull-wing doors immediately made it perfect to represent a vehicle of the time. Curiously, Marty McFly he was originally intended as a 17-year-old boy, but Michael J. Fox was 24 during filming, which led to some scenes having to be adapted to make him appear younger. The famous flying skateboard was partly created using a real remote-controlled skateboard, a small detail that added realism to the most spectacular scenes. Even the famous "flux capacitor", the heart of the mechanism that allows time travel, is the result of imagination but its name was inspired by real technical terms in the field of electronics, chosen to seem scientifically plausible. Finally, it is interesting to know that the film seriously risked not seeing the light: producer Steven Spielberg initially did not want to finance the project, but then changed his mind, becoming one of the major supporters and contributing to the worldwide success of the saga.

With the return to cinemas of the first episode in a restored version, viewers will have a unique opportunity to rediscover the magic of a saga that marked an era and continues to influence pop culture. Between emotion, laughter and adrenaline, October 21st is confirmed as the perfect day to board the DeLorean and set off on a journey through time that never ceases to fascinate.
