Hayao Miyazaki's legacy will come to the Colombian capital in a mix of fantastic worlds, new arrangements, unreleased songs and a high-level stage set-up. There will be a total of more than 40 musicians on stage who will pay tribute to the most iconic Studio Ghibli productions.
One of the most special moments will be for 'My Neighbor Totoro', a production that tells the story of Satsuki and Mei, two sisters who discover magical beings in the forest while facing the absence of their mother. Mei, the youngest, symbolizes innocence and connection with nature.
The dubbing actress, Angélica Villa Barón, is the one who brings the youngest of the sisters to life in the world of Latin Spanish and will be one of the most anticipated guests of the night.
"With more than two decades of experience in dubbing, theater and directing, Villa has become a beloved figure for an entire generation of viewers. His presence in Bogotá will be a living tribute to the voice that marked the childhood of thousands of fans of the Ghibli universe," highlighted the official launch statement.
The concert production is carried out by Matrix Entertainment and Spooky House, with the support of the District Institute of the Arts – Idartes, seeking to guarantee a first-class visual and sound experience, in addition to transporting the public to the enchanted worlds that turned the Japanese studio into a universal icon of animation.
“Ghibli in Concert Vol. 2 will be more than a musical spectacle: it is an opportunity to celebrate imagination, nostalgia and the universal power of music that unites generations,” the statement added.
The event will be next November 28, at 8:00 pm, at the Jorge Eliécer Gaitán Theater in Bogotá. To learn more information you can visit the following link.
