The long-awaited new film Paul Thomas Anderson (Licorice Pizza), One Battle After Anotherhas now arrived in cinemas and, as is tradition in the director's work, the soundtrack is a character in itself. Known for his striking use of songs to build the atmosphere of his films, Anderson once again delivers an eclectic and powerful musical selection.

The film, starring Leonardo DiCaprio, Sean Penn e Teyana Taylormarks the sixth consecutive collaboration between the director and Jonny Greenwoodguitarist of Radioheadwho wrote the original soundtrack. The partnership, which has already yielded memorable work in films such as Black Blood e Phantom Plotguarantees the tension and sound identity of the production. In addition to the original composition of Greenwoodthe film is filled with “needle drops” — moments in which pre-existing songs are inserted in an impactful way. Inspired by romance Vinelandof Thomas Pynchonthe film tells the story of a former revolutionary who leads a mission to rescue the daughter of one of his companions.

What is the story of One Battle After Another?

Em One Battle After Another, DiCaprio interpreta Bob Fergusona revolutionary who fights to save his daughter while facing a powerful adversary and reliving events from 16 years earlier that explain his desperate situation.

This is the first collaboration between DiCaprio e Paul Thomas Anderson in a film project. The script is by the filmmaker himself, who was inspired by Vinelandepic book by the author Thomas Pynchon.
