The American actress, producer and director has died at the age of 79 Diane Keaton. According to Variety magazine, citing People, Keaton passed away this Saturday in California.
Immortalized in the 7th art for its interpretation in Annie Hall (1977), by Woody Allen, which earned her the Oscar for Best Actress, Keaton began her career in theater, on Broadway, in 1968, with the musical Hairbut quickly jumped to television and film. It was in The Godfather (1972), by Francis Ford Coppola, as Kay Adams, the companion of Michael Corleone (Al Pacino), who would have her first major role, to which she would return in its two sequels, in 1974 and 1990.

I think Woody used a certain essential quality that he found in me at that time, and I'm glad he did, because it worked really well in the film..”
Protagonist of the trilogy Father of the Bride (1991, 1995, 2020), alongside Steve Martin, Keaton was also nominated for an Oscar for Reds (1981), Marvin’s Room (1996) e Something’s Gotta Give (2003). In his CV we also find films such as The Lemon Sisters (1989), The First Wives Club (1996) eo duo Book Club (2018) & Book Club: The Next Chapter (2023).
In doing so, he signed an episode of Twin Peaks (22nd) and stood out with Unstrung Heroes (1995) e Hanging Up (2000), in addition to producing the award-winning Elephant (2003), de Gus Van Sant, e Summer Camp (2024), where he would have one of his last film roles.
