“We were afraid and we were frightened”, remember Hélène and Katy, the real robbers of the “Amazon Gang”

On the roof terrace of a palace with a view of the Eiffel Tower, Hélène and Katy reassure each other. “The first interview went really well, the first breath is taken. Fortunately, because I was so stressed…” “You look beautiful, with makeup and hair like that,” the second responds in her strong Southern accent, a cigarette in her hand. Usually, Hélène and Katy meet in their housing estate in Isle-sur-la-Sorgue (Vaucluse). This Tuesday, the decor changed and so did their look.

The two women, aged 61 and 60, are promoting Mélissa Drigeard’s “Gang of the Amazons”, a gripping and moving film about their story: that of five women who robbed banks between January 1989 and July 1990.
