Airing on open TV in the remake of Vale Tudo as Luciano, Licínio Januário is also in the cast of O Agente Secreto. The film, starring Wagner Moura, was chosen to represent Brazil at the 2026 Oscars. And the Angolan actor is already hopeful that the film will receive a nomination for the award.

“Agente Secreto is another gift in my life and in my career. For now, I can only say that in it I play an Angolan character from another time, with the tone of writing and direction by Kleber Mendonça Filho”, says the artist in an interview with TV News.

“I’m happy to have this mark on my artistic CV, as well as the honor I had of acting with an artistically huge cast and, among them, with Wagner Moura, who is one of the actors I’ve admired since I was very young, for his talent and his career”, values Licínio.

The film opens in cinemas on November 6th, but has already been attracting attention since Wagner Moura won the best actor category at the Cannes Film Festival.

I’m very hopeful for the Oscar, especially after the four awards the film won at the Cannes Film Festival. Who knows, I might have the honor of taking Angola to the biggest film festival of all time.

The film attempts to repeat the feat of I’m Still Here (2024), by Walter Salles, winner of the Oscar for best international film in the last edition of the ceremony.

The Secret Agent tells the story of Marcelo (Wagner Moura), a professor specialized in technology who moves to Recife during the Military Dictatorship (1964-1985) and discovers that he is being spied on.
