A Toyota officially revealed the sixth generation of the RAV4one of the SUVs most important products from the Japanese brand. Since its launch in 1994, the model has helped popularize the sport utility vehicle for urban useparticularly in Japan and the United States.
The new generation arrives with a focus on electrificationimprovements in performance and the adoption of smart technologies.
The new RAV4 2026 will be offered in versions conventional hybrid (HEV) e plug-in hybrid (PHEV). In the case of the PHEV, Toyota developed a new plug-in hybrid system associated with a higher capacity batterycapable of providing electric autonomy estimated at up to 150 kmabove the 95 km of the previous model. It is a 2.5 engine plus an electric one with a total power of 304 hp.
Furthermore, the model now has a DC fast charger which allows you to recharge the battery to 80% in around 30 minutes. In the conventional hybrid configuration, with 268 hp, the SUV received transmission improvements and electrical components, which resulted in smoother acceleration and better dynamic response.
O design do Toyota RAV4 was also updated, maintaining the model’s robust identity, but with a touch of boldness. Visually, the model features narrower headlights, new LED daytime running lights and a redesigned bumper. In the cabin, a panel with horizontal lines and “island” architecture, which includes a 12.3-inch digital instrument panel and a 12.9-inch multimedia center, with voice commands and compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto systems.
In the version GR Sport, with a more sporty proposal, it has a recalibrated suspension, 2 cm wider tracks and reinforced shock absorbers. Inside, there are more enveloping seats and aluminum pedals. The Toyota Safety Sense safety package has been updated, incorporating assists such as front cross-traffic alert, automatic braking, adaptive cruise control and blind-spot monitoring.
Another novelty is the adoption of platform Arenadeveloped by Toyota to accelerate the evolution of software-defined vehicles. This allows for the inclusion of advanced features such as Emergency Driving Stop System (EDSS)capable of stop the car safely if the driver becomes unwelland a sudden acceleration suppression system. The Toyota Safety Sense safety package has also been updated, offering enhanced driving assists and new accident prevention features.
The new generation RAV4 will be available globally in more than 180 countries, with three versions: Corewith an urban focus; Adventurewith off-road appeal; and GR Sportst, with a sporty setup and exclusive components. Prices and launch dates for the Brazilian market have not yet been released, but it should certainly be one of Toyota’s new offerings here in 2026.
