The frenetic Spanish film that has become the most watched on Netflix after the first day of release

Spanish cinema continues to accumulate triumphs on streaming platforms. Now, it is the turn of a political thriller whose plot is inspired by the largest covert operation in history against the terrorist group ETA.

Very attractive content that has quickly placed it as the most viewed film on Netflix in our country. Of course we are talking about ‘A ghost in battle’.

We are witnessing a fast-paced political, police and intrigue thriller written and directed by Agustín Díaz Yanes that the streaming giant will premiere this Friday, October 17, after its first release in movie theaters on October 3. And in less than two days it has already placed itself in the top 1.

‘A ghost in the battle has a footage of 1 hour and 48 minutes and tells a story that is very reminiscent of ‘The Infiltrated’ by Carolina Yuste and Luis Tosar. A feature film that won the Goya along with ‘El 47’ in the last edition of the Spanish film festival.

Produced by the creators of ‘The Snow Society’, that is, with the seal of Juan Antonio Bayona, the film stars Susana Abaitua. Andrés Gertrudix, Iraia Elías, Raul Arevalo and Ariadna Gil complete the main artistic cast of a film that has been shot in spectacular locations in the Spanish and French Basque Country.

Based on the experiences of several members of the Civil Guard directly involved in the anti-terrorist fight and grounded in the historical, political and social context of the 90s and 2000s, the film tells the story of Amaia (Susana Abaitua).

Amaia is a young civil guard who leaves everything to pass herself off as a member of ETA. Risking her life, she spent more than a decade working as an undercover agent within the terrorist organization, with the aim of locating the caches that the gang had hidden in the south of France.
