‘The Black Phone 2’ surpasses the 1st film and becomes Blumhouse’s BIGGEST debut of the year

Success! The long-awaited sequel’The Black Phone 2‘ (The Black Phone 2) grossed US$26.5 million in its first weekend in the USA.

The performance managed to surpass the premiere of the original feature, which opened with US$23.6 million not country.

Furthermore, the sequel became the biggest release of the year for the Blumhouseeasily surpassing ‘Werewolf‘ (US$10.8M), ‘M3GAN 2.0‘ (US$10.2M), ‘The Woman in the Garden‘ (US$9.3M) e ‘Drop: Anonymous Threat‘ (US$7.3M).

With 74% approval from critics on Rotten Tomatoesthe horror received a B grade from the public on CinemaScore. For comparison, the rating was slightly below the original film (B+).
