Taylor Swift announces film and documentary about ‘The Eras Tour’

The singer Taylor Swift, who recently released her 12th studio album, “The Life Of a Showgirl”, announced a documentary and film about the “The Eras Tour” (2023-2024), tour that revisited the artist’s different musical phases in her 16-year career. The first project, titled The End of an Era, will feature six episodes, and the second, The Final Showwill show a complete presentation of the blonde with behind-the-scenes footage. Both titles will be released on Disney+ on December 12th.

The news was announced on Instagram this Monday, 12th: “It was the end of an era and we knew it. We wanted to remember every moment that led us to the most important and intense moment of our lives, so we allowed the cameras to record the tour and all the stories woven as it unfolded”, captioned the artist. The scenes from the film were recorded during the last performance from the tour, on December 8, 2024.

Most profitable tour in history

After 21 months and 149 presentations around the world, the artist’s show became the most profitable tour in history. In total, more than 2 billion dollars were raised.

The exact figure, released by The New York Times, is impressive: US$2,077,618,725.00 (around R$12.6 billion at current prices) in tickets alone. The amount raised is practically double the second most profitable tour in history: since 2022, Coldplay has already earned US$1,144,590,969.00 (around R$6.9 billion) with the Music of the Spheres World Tour.
