Freddy Krueger will be honored just in time for Halloween: horror icon Robert Englund will receive a star on the Walk of Fame on October 31st.

Actor Robert Englund (78), known for his iconic role as Freddy Krueger in the “Nightmare on Elm Street” series (German title: “Nightmare – Murderous Dreams”), will be honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. The ceremony appropriately takes place on October 31st, Halloween. The Hollywood Chamber of Commerce announced this on Instagram.



The ceremony is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. local time in Los Angeles and will take place in the 5500 block of Hollywood Boulevard. According to media reports, Englund, who portrayed Freddy Krueger in a total of eight horror films, including “Freddy vs. Jason” (2003), will be supported at the event by actress Heather Langenkamp (61), who played the role of Nancy Thompson in the original 1984 film, and director Eli Roth. The event will be broadcast live on various platforms so that fans worldwide can share in this special moment.

Robert Englund has worked on over 80 productions

The awarding of the star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame honors Englund’s long career in the film industry. In addition to his role as Freddy Krueger, Englund appeared in over 80 films and television series, including “Mr. Universe” (1976) and “A Star Is Born” (1976). In the same year he began his horror film career with a role in Tobe Hooper’s Bloodlust. In 1984 he played Freddy Krueger for the first time, and in 2003 he took on the scary role for the last time.

In 1989 he directed the horror film “976-Evil” for the first time, and in the same year he also directed two episodes of the series “Freddy’s Nightmars: A Nightmare on Elm Street”. In 2008, he directed the horror comedy “Killer Pad.” Englund was last seen in the fourth season of the Netflix series “Stranger Things” as Victor Creel in 2022.
