Spider-Man: Brand New Day, Charlie Cox denies his presence in the film

While various heroes from the Marvel Cinematic Universe are appearing in Spider-Man: Brand New Daythere have been a lot of questions about whether Daredevil, starring
Charlie Coxwill appear or not. After being part of the cast of Spider-Man: No Way Homethere was even more interest in seeing Matt Murdock fully collaborate with the iconic Spider-Man.

In a new interview on the Phase Hero podcast, Cox has now addressed theories that he is set to appear in Spider-Man: Brand New Daydue to his filming schedule in London. However, the MCU veteran pointed out: “I know everyone thinks I’m in Spider-Man because I’m filming something in London, but that’s not the case, I’m not in Spider-Man”.

In Spider-Man: No Way
Home
Cox appeared as the iconic Marvel lawyer to help Peter Parker, played by Tom
Holland
more than three years after the third season of
Daredevil had led to the end of the Netflix series. That same year, before the film’s release, Cox’s co-star, Vincent D’Onofriohe returned to the MCU timeline as Kingpin in the TV series
Hawkeye.

To date, a generic synopsis of

Spider-Man: Brand New Day
emerged earlier this year, though it’s unclear how accurate it is.

After the events of Doomsday, Peter Parker is determined to lead a normal life and focus on college, stepping away from his responsibilities as Spider-Man. However, peace is short-lived when a deadly new threat emerges, endangering his friends and forcing Peter to reconsider his promise. With the stakes higher than ever, Peter reluctantly returns to his identity as Spider-Man and finds himself having to team up with an unlikely ally to protect those he loves.

The unlikely ally could therefore be The Punisher of
Jon Bernthal – recently announced as part of the film – in a situation already seen in previous Marvel films where the heroes initially see each other as antagonists only to then team up against the real threat of the moment.

What is certain is that the film shares its title with a controversial narrative era, which saw Marvel Comics give the wall-crawler a new start, but ending his marriage to Mary Jane Watson and making his identity secret again. During that time he faced many sinister new enemies and was surrounded by a revamped supporting cast, including a resurrected Harry Osborn.

The film was recently pushed back a week from July 24, 2026 to July 31, 2026.
Destin Daniel Crettondirector of
Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Ringswill direct the film from a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.

Tom Holland leads a cast that also includes
Zendaya, Jacob Battle,

Mark Ruffalo,
Sadie Sink e Liza Colon-Zayas
e
Jon Bernthal. Michael Mando has been confirmed while for now the involvement of
Charlie Cox
.

Spider-Man: Brand New
Day
