The plot follows Abby (Sam Morelos), a shy high school student who hires an exotic dancer to help her win over her old flame before graduation. The dancer in question is Santa Monica (Chloe Fineman), a flamboyant and spirited woman who becomes Abby’s mentor and friend. The chemistry between the two is the heart of the film: while the veteran tries to teach confidence and attitude, she also ends up learning about vulnerability and empathy. The contrast between their personalities makes for the best scenes and most of the laughs.
