New Honda CR-V hybrid debuts in the USA and comes to Brazil in 2023

The new generation of Honda CR-V is officially on sale in the United States, completely reformulated and with many new features. The medium SUV has moved up a level and features larger dimensions and plenty of space. In addition, it also brings the most modern style of the Japanese brand’s cars, inspired mainly by the Larger Passport SUV and Ridgeline pickup truckwhich are also sold on the North American market. For Brazil, this is the new CR-V that will come in 2023.

In terms of dimensions, the new HR-V 2023 is larger than the previous one. ZR-Vwhich should also arrive soon on the Brazilian market. According to the data released, the model is now 4.70 m long, compared to 4.63 m in the previous generation. However, the big highlight is the increase of 4 centimeters in the wheelbase, which now stands at 2.70 m. In turn, the width is 1.87 m and the height is 1.69 m. With the new measurements, the SUV has ample rear space, as well as greater trunk capacity.

It is worth mentioning that the CR-V is available in four versions on the North American market, namely EX, EX-L, Sport e Sport Touring. For the new generation, Honda revised the chassis and strengthened the body structure, which is 15% more rigid. Therefore, according to the automaker itself, the SUV has more comfortable handling. Furthermore, the front and rear suspensions have also undergone improvements.

On the other hand, the big news was for the Sport and Sport Touring variants. Now, they have a new hybrid system that combines a 2.0 engine with two electric thrusters. In total, they offer a combined power of 207 hp and 34.1 mkgf of torque. This increased the maximum speed to 185 km/h. To date, there is no official consumption data.

In terms of appearance, one of the main focuses is the front, which has a larger and wider grille, with finishes and designs that change from version to version. It even merges new full-LED headlights through a thin line. On the bumper, which became more aggressive in the restyling, the air intakes are larger and have been relocated, with one more at the bottom of the model. Adding these details to the new hood design and more robust lines, the new CR-V has a more modern and sophisticated look, but with sporty touches.

In turn, the look of the rear is reminiscent of the Volvo XC60. In this sense, the lanterns are “L” shaped. In versions with hybrid engines, it is possible to notice false exhaust outlets at the bottom of the bumper. Furthermore, the inscription “Hybrid” is attached to the trunk lid on the left. However, it is also worth mentioning the remodeling of the bumper and the look of the trunk. Furthermore, there is also a rear spoiler.

Already known interior

The instrument panel is not 100% digital, with an analog speedometer. But, a positive point is the wireless charger for smartphones, which is almost a must in models in this category.

When it comes to technology and driver assistance systems, the CR-V comes well equipped. It will come standard with the Honda Sensing package, which has features such as, for example, point alert, traffic sign reader, adaptive cruise control, hill descent and lane keeping assistant. It is also worth mentioning the new front and rear cameras, which help detect pedestrians and cyclists. Furthermore, there are also ten airbags.
