new Chevrolet Silverado 2027 will have Blazer detail

Presented on the North American market at the end of 2017 and restyled in mid-2021, the current generation of the Silverado pickup truck should soon have a successor. The site’s most recent snap GM Authority indicates that the model has already started to lose its shame in showing itself, revealing more details about its design and even a hint of the Tahoe and Blazer SUVs.

In the first sighting of the pickup, released at the beginning of March, the pickup still used temporary front headlights, something common in prototypes, especially when the focus of the test is on other equipment, such as suspension, engine or cooling system. With the new photos, it is now possible to identify that the new large pickup truck should adopt the split headlights fashion, as is the case in the brand’s SUV line mentioned above and, in Brazil, also in the Montana pickup truck.

At Silverado, the bet is on a look similar – or identical – to the restyled versions of Tahoe and Suburban. Both of Chevrolet’s large SUVs adopted taller, split headlight elements that first arrived on the new Blazer.

In the case of the updated Tahoe and Suburban, there is a horizontal LED strip aligned with the hood, followed by a “C” shaped LED just below. These two LED strips serve as DRL and indicator indicators, while the main headlight is perfectly integrated with the “C” LED.

Internally, the New Silverado 2027 will have a very large digital instrument panel, as can be identified from the photo. This panel will probably be accompanied by the multimedia screen, following the pattern also seen in the Blazer.

Under the hood, the new pickups will adopt a new line of V8 gasoline engines from the Small Block family with improvements in terms of performance and efficiency. There is talk of a reduction of at least 10% in greenhouse gas emissions compared to current propellants. General Motors is investing around US$579 million to produce these new engines at its Flint, Michigan (USA) plant.

The project includes both the Silverado 1500 (the most popular version and the only one offered in Brazil) and the sister GMC Sierra 1500 (design with exclusive elements and a more luxurious proposal). Both will exchange the T1-1 platform for the T1-2 architecture, considered an evolution of the current one and equipped with a series of technical and dynamic advances.

The 2027 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 is expected to launch in late 2026 as a 2027 model, which would allow GM to reach the market before the next-generation Ford F-150, which was recently delayed by a year.
