Mortal Kombat 2 gets new behind-the-scenes teaser at NYCC

During a New York Comic Cona Warner Bros. revealed another teaser for Mortal Kombat 2, showing a little more of the film and behind the scenes, emphasizing the scale of the film, which will feature the arrival of Johnny Cage (Karl Urban) to help the heroes ensure that Earth is not conquered by Shao Khan.

Produced by James Wan (of Aquaman e Saw), the adaptation of Mortal Kombat 2021 focuses on Cole Young (Lewis Tan), an MMA fighter hunted by the Emperor of Outworld, Shang Tsung (Chin Han), and his warrior Sub-Zero (Joe Taslim). The film is inspired by the legendary (and famously violent) fighting game franchise from Netherrealmwhich remains popular to this day.

With help from Sonya Blade (Jessica McNamee) and soldier Jax (Mehcad Brooks), Cole soon finds refuge in Lord Raiden’s temple (Tadanobu Asano), where he began to train with figures such as Kung Lao (Max Huang), Liu Kang (To play him) in the Catholic (Josh Lawson) to unlock your true potential and prepare for the fight against the forces of Outworld. The film also features Hiroyuki Sanada (Shogun: The Glorious Saga of Japan) in the role of Scorpion, the most popular character in the games.

The sequel, again directed by Simon McQuoidwill add Tati Gabrielle like Jade, Martyn Ford like the fearsome Shao Kahn and Karl UrbanBilly Bruto from The Boyslike Johnny Cage, another character much loved by game fans. Your narrative should focus on holding the fighting tournament that gives the saga its name.

Mortal Kombat there was also a film in 1995. Today considered a cult classic of the “it’s so good it’s bad” line, it was directed by Paul W.S. Andersonwho later directed the films of Resident Evil com Milla Jovovichand starring names like Christopher Lambert e Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa.
