Guillermo del Toro: where to see the director’s best films

One of today’s most celebrated filmmakers, Guillermo del Toro he turns 61 this Thursday, the 9th. Known for stunning visuals and his appreciation for monster stories, the Mexican director is considered one of the great exponents of contemporary horror, but he has never been trapped in just one genre.

Told from the point of view of Jiminy Cricket (voiced in the original version by Ewan McGregor), the film is an emotional tale about desire, belonging and perseverance, which relies on del Toro’s sensitivity to horror to create a world that is equally fantastic and disturbing.
