The new Chevrolet Silverado caught the eyes of many people when it was presented in the final of Big Brother Brasil 23. And if it impressed you with its luxury and power, believe me, it can get even better.
GMC launched the Sierra HD AT4X in the USA, the rich cousin of the Silverado HD, which in turn is the even larger variant of the Silverado that we will have here, with the size of a Ram 2500. But in addition to having a greater luxury appeal, the new version also brings more off-road capability, being able to drag trailers to extremely difficult places.

With the AT4X package, the Sierra gets 18” wheels with 35” Goodyear Territory tires. The pickup also had its suspension geometry changed and was raised by 3.81 cm, totaling a ground clearance of 29.4 cm.
Still talking about the suspension, the shock absorbers are Multimatic DSSV, also used in official racing vehicles. They feature three separate spool valves, which are more resistant for heavy off-roading and also help maintain stability on the road.

As the focus is off-road, GMC paid special attention to the front suspension, bringing new improved steering knuckles and unique upper and lower control arms. To withstand the bumps, the Sierra HD AT4X also has an aluminum protection plate to protect the crankcase and a steel one to protect the steering gear.

Mechanically, it has two engine options. The first is the 406 hp 6.6 gasoline V8, less powerful than the one that will equip the Brazilian Silverado. The other option is the more interesting V8 Duramax turbodiesel with 476 hp and 134.8 kgfm, capable of making the pickup truck tow up to 8.4 tons.
In both cases, the transmission is the Alisson 10-speed automatic, which provides full traction. To complete the mechanical package, it is also equipped with an electronic locking rear differential.

Inside, there could be no lack of refinement and luxury. The finish is made of Vanta Ash wood, in a combination with leather that the brand calls Obsidian Rush. There are also front seats with massaging, a 13.4” multimedia center, a 12.3” digital instrument panel and a Bose sound system with 12 speakers.

If all that wasn’t good enough, the AT4X will have an even more extreme variant, called the AEV Edition. With more off-road capability, this version features 18” Salta wheels, a steel front bumper with integrated winch and stronger steel plates.

The GMC Sierra HD AT4X and AEV Edition begin production in the second half of the year. The price has not yet been released, but it is very likely that they will be the most expensive in the line, costing around 90,000 dollars, equivalent to around R$450,000.
