GMC officially revealed the 2024 Sierra EV Denali, an electric pickup truck that debuts after the Hummer EV and Hummer SUV models. Built on the Ultium platform, like the aforementioned models, the Sierra EV will be launched in early 2024 in the fully equipped Denali Edition 1 version and available in a limited series.
Reservations for this launch edition open today for the starting price of US$ 107.000 (plus a $1,695 shipping fee). That said, the GMC Sierra EV lineup will have more affordable versions for the 2025 model year, the Elevation and AT4, with the former costing from US$ 50.000.
But speaking of the debut Denali Edition 1 model, it offers a GM-estimated range of 400 miles on a full charge. However, GMC has not yet released the battery capacity.

The battery, which is also a structural element of the electric pickup, powers a two-motor powertrain that delivers 764 hp of power and 108.3 kgfm of torque through an e4WD system in Max Power mode.
Activating Max Power mode results in acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in less than 4.5 seconds, making the Sierra EV Denali the fastest Sierra pickup ever. Max Power is one of five customizable driving modes, in addition to Standard, Tow/Haul, Off-Road and My Mode.
Another strong point of the GMC Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 is the 800-volt electrical architecture that allows DC fast charging capability of up to 350 kW, allowing approximately 100 miles of range to be added in just 10 minutes. The electric pickup also includes an onboard 19.2 kW AC charging module for home and public charging, as well as offering access to GM’s Ultium Charge 360.

As expected, the 2024 GMC Sierra EV adopts many of the features introduced by the Hummer EV, such as four-wheel steering, CrabWalk, on-demand regenerative braking, One-Pedal Driving, and adaptive air suspension.
Another highlight of the GMC pickup truck is the bidirectional charging function, which allows the pickup truck to be used as a mobile power source in various situations. With the available Ultium Power Bar accessory, the truck offers 10.2 kW of off-board power through up to 10 outlets that can power power tools and other accessories on the trail or at a campsite. Properly equipped, the Power Station Pro can also power another electric vehicle and even a home — for up to 21 days!
When it comes to practicality, GMC says the Ultium Platform provides “unprecedented flexibility and versatility for transporting and storing cargo never before available in a Sierra.”
Like the 2024 Silverado EV, the Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 will be offered exclusively as a Crew Cab model with a six-foot integrated cargo bed. The MultiPro Midgate provides 2.74 meters of storage between the cab and tailgate when opened, or approximately 3.35 meters when the standard MultiPro Tailgate is deactivated.

Inside the cabin, the flat floor allows for more storage space, including a modular center console, while the 60/40 split-folding second-row seat offers four configurations. As for towing, the 2024 Sierra EV Denali Edition 1 has up to 4,309 kg of towing capacity and up to 590 kg of payload. A tow package is standard on the Denali 1 Edition.
GMC’s luxury sub-brand is well represented by the Sierra EV Denali, which features a panoramic glass roof that extends above both rows of the cabin, a stylish new upholstery pattern and premium materials like leather, authentic open-pore wood, aluminum and even brushed steel.
Denali is also about technology, and the Sierra EV doesn’t disappoint in that regard either. It features a 16.8-inch smartphone-shaped multimedia touchscreen, the largest ever in a Sierra, paired with an 11-inch reconfigurable information center and a multicolor Head Up Display powered by GM’s Ultifi software platform.
The Sierra EV Denali also has up to 14 available camera views to increase visibility around the vehicle, Hands-Free Start and Super Cruise hands-free driver assistance technology.
The Denali Edition 1 will be made at GM’s ZERO Detroit-Hamtramck Assembly Plant in Michigan, but future Sierra EV electric pickup trucks will also be assembled at the Lake Orion plant in the same state.
