Galochas Noturnas wins the Grand Prize at the Animage 2025 Festival

Today (12) the winners of the Competitive Exhibition of Festival Animage 2025in Recife. The choice was made by the jury composed of the film director Daniel Bandeira (Property), by the specialized journalist Luciana Verasand by the film producer Nuno Beato (My Grandfather’s Demons).

  • Animage Grand Prize: Night Galoshes

The winner of Animage Grand Prize, Night Galoshes (Night Boots), is a 2024 French animated short film, 12 minutes long, which tells the story of a boy who escapes from home while his parents welcome their friends. In the dark forest, he encounters a curious and solitary creature who reveals to him the nocturnal beings that live there. In order not to be alone again, the creature will do everything to prolong the boy’s visit.

About the Animage Festival

In 2025, Animage celebrates 15 years between memory and future, uniting classics, premieres and narratives that explore utopias and dystopias. Between paints, paper and objects, artisanal animation reveals its strength, connecting the local perspective to universal debates and infinite horizons.

The program took place between the 7th and 12th of October, at Cine São Luiz, Caixa Cultural Recife, Cinema da Fundação Derby, Cinema da UFPE and Teatro do Parque, with free entrances.
