Emma Stone’s new film has a free premiere only for those who shave their heads or are bald | Films

Anyone who wants to watch ‘Bugonia’, Emma Stone’s latest work under the direction of director Yorgos Lanthimos, with whom the star has worked on three films before the premiere – ‘The Favorite’ (2018), ‘Poor Creatures’ (2023) and ‘Types of Kindness’ (2024) – will have the opportunity. But, like everything in life, there is a price. The advance screening that will be held in Los Angeles at the Culver Theater on Monday, October 20th, at 8 pm local time, is only for those who show up with shaved hair.

The film – which is already being considered one of the favorites for the 2026 Oscars – arrives for the general public in the USA, that is, also for those who want to preserve their hair, on the 24th. In Brazil, it will take a little longer – November 13th. But apparently without the need to resort to the zero machine.

On its social media page, DoLA, which helps organize the preview, published the rules for the event. “Are you bald or willing to shave your head? On Monday, 10/20, head to the Culver Theater for a FREE advance screening of ‘Bugonia’ – Focus Features’ new fever dream from Yorgos Lanthimos, starring Emma Stone and Jesse Plemons.” The publication also highlighted that a barber will be on site from 6pm to shave the heads of participants who did not have time to get rid of their hair. He also clarifies: “This is real. And yes, some of this will be filmed.”

Tickets are available on a first-come, first-served basis and require RSVP. The public must be 18 years of age or older to participate in the event.

It is a tribute to the character of Emma Stone – who has already won the Oscar for Best Actress twice, with ‘La La Land’ (2016) and ‘Poor Creatures’ (2023) – and is seeking her third title. She plays a CEO who is kidnapped by conspiracy theorists who suspect her of being an alien.

Upon arriving in captivity, she has her hair shaved so that she is unable to “contact her mother ship”, as her captors explain.
