Emma Stone’s film will have a special session for bald people

The Culver Theater cinema, located in Los Angeles, announced a curious promotional action for the release of Bugonia, a new partnership between Emma Stone and director Yorgos Lanthimos. On October 20th, the venue will show a special screening of the film open only to those with shaved heads.

According to the official statement, anyone who wants to attend the screening, but is not bald, can shave their hair on the spot: a barber will be available in the cinema lobby to perform cuts for free before the screening. The initiative is part of a marketing campaign inspired by the film’s theme, which mixes science fiction, humor and social criticism – in addition, protagonist Emma Stone has her head shaved in the film.

Interested participants must arrive at the location from 6pm, when the barber will begin service. The special session will be shown shortly afterwards.

For now, the action is exclusive to the United States and there is no forecast of a similar activation in Brazil. Still, the strategy drew attention on social media for its creativity and unusual way of involving the public in the film’s atmosphere.
