General Motors has launched the GMC Sierra EV in the USA, an electric pickup truck that starts at US$107,000 in the North American market, and will hit dealerships in 2023.

The GMC Sierra EV pickup truck adopts two electric motors, which add up to a power rating of 760 hp, and 1064 Nm of torque, and a range of 400 miles (640 km).

According to official data, the GMC Sierra EV accelerates from 0 to 96 km/h (60 mph) in 4.5 seconds. Towing capacity is 4.3 tons.

The interior of the GMC Sierra EV features padded seats, real wood trim and three screens, including one for the head-up display.

The model also has a Super Cruise autonomous driving system, which will be configured to operate with trailers.

The pickup will also be able to power a home or recharge another vehicle, such as a Chevrolet Bolt. Its 350-kilowatt charging system can inject 100 miles of range into Ultium batteries in 10 minutes, GM says.

To recharge the GMC Sierra, an 800 volt DC public fast charging system with a capacity of up to 350 kW can be used; 100 miles of range takes approximately 10 minutes.

The model also features four-wheel steering.
