Do new ‘Demon Slayer’ films already have a date to hit theaters? Crunchyroll CEO responds

Having been showing in Brazil for around three weeks, “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinite Castle” continues to attract crowds to movie theaters and has already broken records in Brazil and the United States, in addition to recently achieving another impressive feat by becoming the highest grossing film worldwide for a Japanese production.

The resounding performance raises an inevitable question: when will the next chapters of the trilogy that promises to conclude the saga arrive on the big screen? In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter magazine, Rahul Purino, CEO of Crunchyroll, brought a less than encouraging update for fans:

“Well, we announced that it would be a trilogy of films, but our partners at Aniplex and Ufotable haven’t decided on dates yet. But you see, there is definitely an urgency to bring more of ‘Demon Slayer’ to the fans as quickly as possible, because we know there is an urgency among them.”

Despite the absence of an official date, the success of “Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Infinite Castle” could accelerate plans and ensure that the next productions arrive with even more strength, a possibility reinforced by Purino himself:

“All I can say at the moment is that we are working closely with our partners to ensure the next films are as amazing (as the first) – if not better.”
