In the year in which it celebrates 100 years in Brazil, Chevrolet promises five new features for the Brazilian market (and we tell you what they will be)
Chevrolet will have a busy 2025 in Brazil. In the year that General Motors celebrates its centenary in the country, the American brand will make at least five launches in the country, which were confirmed during the brand’s 100th anniversary party in Brazil, last Thursday, 23rd. Among restylings and new models, Chevrolet will soon have changes to its lineup in the country. Check out what the brand’s new features will be in 2025 in the Brazilian market:
Chevrolet Spark EUV Activ
During Chevrolet’s 100th anniversary party, a unit of the new Spark EUV Activ entered the stage for a few seconds and quickly left the scene. Despite not having given any details about the model, Chevrolet has already been testing the Spark EUV Activ in Brazil for a few weeks, and should launch the electric SUV by the end of this year with competitive prices.
Developed and made in China, the Chevrolet Spark EUV Activ is a rebadge of the Baojun Yep Plus, an electric SUV smaller than the Tracker that is sold in China with a 75 kW (101 hp) electric motor. The range is around 400 km on the Chinese cycle. Inside, the Spark features a 10.25” digital and multimedia panel, and will compete directly with models such as the BYD Yuan Pro and Dolphin in the Brazilian market.
Chevrolet Onix
Already spotted undergoing testing, the new Chevrolet Onix should be one of the American brand’s first launches in 2025. The model will gain a new look, with changes concentrated at the front. The headlights will have new LED lights, while the front grille will have a new shape. The bumpers will also change. The lanterns will have new internal elements.
Inside, the new Chevrolet Onix should gain a digital dashboard and a new multimedia center, as well as improvements to the interior finish. The level of equipment should be a little higher, with emphasis on more connectivity and safety items, as in the new Spin. The engines will be the current 1.0 aspirated 82 hp and the 1.0 turbo, with the improvements that recently debuted on the Tracker, which increased the power from 116 hp to 121 hp.
Chevrolet Onix Plus
Along with the hatch version, the Onix Plus sedan will also get visual changes in the 2025 line. Both should hit the market at the beginning of the year, possibly in the first quarter. At the front, the new Onix Plus will follow the changes from the Onix hatch, with new headlights, front grille and bumper. The rear should get new lights.
Inside, the same recipe. The Onix Plus should also receive a digital panel and finishing improvements, as well as new safety features. With the arrival of the new phase of the Proconve L8, the 1.0 turbo engine of the Onix and Onix Plus will also gain direct fuel injection and software updates, becoming more economical and powerful, increasing from 116 hp to 121 hp, while torque increases from 164 Nm to 185 Nm.
Chevrolet Tracker
The Chevrolet Tracker will have important changes in 2025. Already spotted in tests, the new Tracker could still be the American brand’s first national hybrid car. The visual changes will focus on the front, which will have split headlights and a new front grille. The bumper will also have redesigned intakes. At the rear, the lights will also be new. The interior will have finishing improvements and a digital dashboard.
Under the hood, the new Chevrolet Tracker will have the new 1.0 and 1.2 engines that debuted in recent weeks. Anticipating the 2025 Proconve L8 rules, the SUV gained direct fuel injection and software updates. The 1.0 turbo engine went from 116 hp to 121 hp, while the 1.2 turbo went from 133 hp to 141 hp, always with a six-speed automatic transmission. In the future, version 1.2 may gain a micro-hybrid system.
Chevrolet Silverado EV
The Ford F-150 Lightning’s main competitor in the USA, the Chevrolet Silverado EV is the electric version of the pickup truck already sold in Brazil. Revealed in 2022 in the USA, the Silverado EV is built on the Ultium electric modular platform and features a unibody body. The new pickup truck could be one of the American brand’s launches on its centenary in Brazil, in 2025.
Still in the study phase for Brazil, the new Chevrolet Silverado EV is sold in the USA only in the RST version, which offers 673 hp of power and more than 700 km of range. The drive is full on all four wheels, thanks to electric drives on both axles. The payload capacity is just 590 kg, while the towing capacity is up to 4,500 kg.
Bonus: 100th anniversary editions for Onix, Tracker and S10
In addition to new models and restylings, Chevrolet will also offer a special 100th anniversary series this year for the Onix, Tracker and S10 models. The models were chosen because each of them was produced in one of Chevrolet’s factories in the country. The Onix is made in Gravataí (RS), the Tracker in São Caetano do Sul (SP), and the S10 pickup in São José dos Campos (SP).
The models will have exclusive finishing and visual details, and may also come with extra accessories. During the 100th anniversary party, Chevrolet only showed the S10 pickup truck featured with the package, as the new feature should only arrive after the restyling of the Onix and Tracker models, which will be revealed in the coming months.
