Chevrolet Silverado has an accessory that corrects design and alleviates traffic

The 2025 Chevrolet Silverado line arrived in stores with a new rear lid that transforms into a ladder to access the bed, called Multi-Flex. But there is another new feature that has been a success among owners for correcting an annoying feature of the pickup.

Due to local legislation, the Chevrolet Silverado High Country is sent to Brazil with the same large mirrors as the Silverado HD, as they are the only ones that have integrated turn signal repeaters (mandatory in Brazil). They are disproportionate and also require extra attention from other drivers and motorcyclists – who try, but are not always able to avoid being scraped.

The solution found by GM was to offer compact mirrors as accessories, but combined with turn signal repeaters that are installed in the middle of the door. These extra lights were developed later and therefore cannot be installed yet on the assembly line. They are unusual accessories, but the demand for them is very high.

The complete kit, with harness, cover in the color of the vehicle and installation (which includes the side cameras of the 360° vision system and the electric folding) included costs R$ 11,383. It’s not cheap, but it’s efficient in solving a pickup inconvenience.

This accessory kit has been available since January and can also be installed on the 2024 Silverado. Interest from owners is great: from February 9th to 15th, 52 kits were sold, a high demand when it comes to accessories. Especially because the pickup had 50 registrations in January and 1.277 em 2024.

The big new feature that comes standard on the Silverado 2025 is the Multi-Flex trunk lid. It has a folding central section, which allows access to the bucket without having to open the entire lid, but which can also be used as a table.

This smaller opening has one more piece that opens to function both as a support for longer loads (an extra plate is required for such use) and can also function as an access step that supports up to 170 kg. For user safety, there is a retractable tilting support on the side of the bucket.

The lid Multi-Flex has electric locks and a weight relief system for opening and closing, but it does not have electric opening and closing like the previous model – which had a simpler lid.
