Chevrolet’s electric SUV drops to R$349,990: we analyze range, package, rivals in the range and to see if the Equinox EV is now worth it

In recent weeks, Chevrolet reduced the price of the Equinox EV in Brazil by R$90,000 after the electric SUV registered only 28 units in 2025. Launched in October last year for R$419,000 and later readjusted to R$440,190, the Chevrolet Equinox EV gained a discount of R$90,200 and started to be sold for R$349,990 in the country.

With the new price of R$349,990, the Chevrolet Equinox EV is positioned in a very competitive price range among electric SUVs. There are Chinese competitors and models from premium brands even with lower prices than the Equinox, such as the Volvo EC40. On the other hand, some competitors (BMW iX1 and Hyundai Ioniq 5) also have a higher starting price than the Chevrolet model.

The Chevrolet Equinox EV stands out most in terms of range. Considering the Inmetro cycle, the American brand’s SUV outperforms all its competitors in the same price range, which have averages above 300 km, but well below the Equinox’s 443 km.

Equipment package

Among the standard equipment, the Chevrolet Equinox EV offers full-LED lights, 19″ wheels, 11″ digital panel, 17.7″ multimedia center with Google built-in system, OnStar and integrated Wi-Fi, ACC, eight airbags, collision and cross-traffic alerts, autonomous emergency braking, blind spot alert, ambient lighting, electrically adjustable driver’s seat, memory and vibrating alert, panoramic sunroof, rear lid with electric opening, forgotten person alert in the back seat, among others.

The package is well packed and is average for the segment. In relation to its rivals, the Equinox does not offer items such as a signature sound system – which was previously offered by the combustion version of the model – and a finish as refined as that of the Chinese models. On the other hand, it is one of the only options with all-wheel drive in this price range.

Is the Chevrolet Equinox EV worth it after the price cut?

The price reduction comes after the Equinox EV sold only 28 units in 2025, according to data from ABVE (Brazilian Electric Vehicle Association). Despite this, as we indicated during our first impressions at the launch of the Chevrolet Equinox EV, it is a well-balanced model with a packed package of items.

With the new value, the Chevrolet Equinox EV stands out among the options in the same price range, since for the R$ 440,190 charged until July, it competed directly with more powerful and luxurious models, including from premium brands. Now, it becomes a better purchasing option than before, and could be worth it for anyone looking for an electric car in the R$350,000 price range.
