Chevrolet, it seems, is realizing that it has overpriced the Blazer EV and Equinox EV electric SUVs. Proof of this is that the second, until then priced at R$440,190, is now sold at a discount of R$90.2 thousand, for R$349,990. Cheap? Not yet. It’s less absurd, let’s say.

+Electric SUV ‘Volvo’s brother’ breaks autonomy record, with 935 km without recharging

Why did the Equinox EV become cheaper?
The reason is simple and straightforward: the electric SUV ran aground in stores. Just to give you an idea, there were only 28 units registered in 2025, according to data from ABVE (Brazilian Electric Vehicle Association). Rivals like the Volvo XC40/EX40, for example, achieved more than 10 times that number. Another competitor, the BMW iX1, accumulated at least 175 copies sold during the period.

What is the Equinox EV like?
The cars in stock, sold for less than R$350,000, are model year 2024. These Equinox EVs offer a good package: 292 hp of power and 46 mkgf of torque extracted from two electric motors, one coupled to each axle. The drive is permanent all-wheel drive (AWD), and Chevrolet advertises acceleration of 5.6 seconds in the 0 to 100 km/h test. As usual in trams, the maximum speed is electronically limited: in this case, 188 km/h.

With a battery capacity of 85 kWh, divided into 10 modules, it achieves the highest autonomy per charge in its category, according to the manufacturer: 443 km using INMETRO’s PBEV cycle. Still, according to Chevrolet, this distance “can be easily overcome”. Energy regeneration during braking and deceleration is standard, configurable at different levels, in addition to two stages of One Pedal mode.

Some of its cool features include full-LED headlights with interactive lighting, external door handles that retract when the car is locked or in motion (reduces aerodynamic drag), adaptive cabin climate control according to external temperature variations, pre-adjustment of climate settings according to the owner’s routine, in addition to the built-in Google package, which includes, in multimedia, the Voice Assistant to control car functions, Maps updated in real time, and Play Store, where you can download various apps, connect the car with the driver’s calendar and receive destinations from smartphones.

In addition to allowing the electric motors to start simply by stepping on the brake or “engaging” the Drive, it is also possible to connect the electric Equinox with the MyChevolet app, where the owner has access to various information and vehicle data remotely. You can program it for novice drivers, and at the end of the journey you can see a report on sudden accelerations and braking, activation of collision avoidance systems and whether the maximum speed was reached. OnStar concierge is also standard.
Equinox EV equipment

In the equipment package, adaptive cruise control (ACC), collision warning, autonomous emergency braking (front and rear), automatic trajectory correction in the event of an imminent side collision, blind-spot monitors with disembarkation assistance, driver’s seat with electrical adjustments and position memory, panoramic sunroof, trunk lid with electric in-person opening/closing, heated front seats, wireless cell phone charger, dual zone automatic digital air conditioning, photochromic interior rearview mirror, 19-inch alloy wheels, 8 airbags, customizable LED ambient lights and full-LED optics are highlights.
