General Motors is betting heavily on boosting sales of its most popular electric SUV, the Chevrolet Equinox EV, in its homeland.

With a new promotion valid until early June, the 2025 model is now being offered for just $289 per month on leases in the United States equivalent to R$1,635 — a lower amount than that charged for the combustion version of the same SUV, which starts at US$299 per month.

Offer valid for Equinox EV in LT version with front-wheel drive (FWD), and requires a down payment of US$3,399.

The contract lasts 24 months, and at the end of this period the customer has the option to purchase, with the purchase price to be determined at the time of signing.

Even though it is the entry-level model in the electric line, the Equinox EV LT delivers a range of up to 319 miles (approximately 513 km), which positions it as one of the electric SUVs with the best range in the category.

In addition, the model has more than 15 safety and driver assistance features as standard.

The interior also leaves nothing to be desired. The version has a multimedia center with a 17.7-inch touchscreen — the largest in its category, according to GM — accompanied by an 11-inch digital instrument panel.

For those who need space, the trunk offers up to 1,620 liters of capacity with the rear seats folded down.

With more than 10,300 units sold in the first quarter of 2025 alone, the Equinox EV is already GM’s best-selling electric model, surpassing even the Blazer EV and the Silverado electric pickup truck.

This performance helped position Chevrolet as the fastest growing electric vehicle brand in the United States.

For those interested in purchasing, GM also offers other special conditions: financing with an interest rate of just 1.4% per year for 36 months, in addition to eligibility for the federal tax credit of US$7,500 for electric vehicles.

Those who opt for the 2024 model can also take advantage of a zero financing rate for up to 60 months.

With a list price starting at US$34,995, the Equinox EV reinforces General Motors’ strategy of making electric cars more accessible to the American public, especially at a time of increasing competition with Chinese brands and technology startups.

For the automaker, the electric Equinox represents not only an alternative to combustion, but an important step towards maintaining its relevance in the global electric market race.
