GM reveals novas Chevrolet Silverado HD and GMC Sierra HD

General Motors revealed this Thursday the new HD versions (for Heavy Duty) for the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra. The pickup trucks will only reach the North American market in 2014, as 2015 models.

In terms of load capacity, the models can support up to 3,345 kg. Meanwhile, the TWR (Trailer Weight Rating, which indicates the amount of weight the vehicle can carry when hitched to a trailer) is 8,890 kg.

Under the hood, two options are available. One of them is the 6.0 V8 Vortec engine, which can be powered by gasoline or dual fuel, offering 360 horsepower and 52.5 kgfm of torque in the 2500 HD and 322 hp and 52.5 kgfm in the 3500 HD. The other is a 6.6 V8 Duramax diesel block, with 397 hp and 105.7 kgfm of torque.

In their respective top-of-the-line versions, Silverado HD and Sierra HD feature a custom front grille, LED headlights, body-colored bumpers, stainless steel exhaust tip, leather upholstery, heated front seats, Boise audio system and Intellilink multimedia center with integrated navigator.
