Chevrolet Equinox EV becomes R$90,000 cheaper after running aground in stores

GM makes no secret of the fact that it wants to sell electric cars. The Chevrolet Spark arrives to beat the BYD Dolphin among the entry-level models in the segment. And to also attack the more expensive car segment, the brand is reducing the price of the Equinox EV.

Launched for R$419,000 in October last year, the SUV underwent increases and was costing R$440,190. Of course, this didn’t help sales, it only had 28 units registered this year, according to ABVE. Now, the brand is giving R$90,200 off, and the Equinox is selling for R$349,990.

With this new pricing, the Equinox is on the same level as other SUVs such as the Zeekr X, the launch of Geely’s luxury brand that arrived in Brazil shortly after the Chevrolet.

Based on the Ultium architecture, the Equinox has a pair of engines, one per axle, which total 292 hp and 46 kgfm. Despite being less powerful than its bigger brother, the 347 hp Blazer EV RS, it can go from 0 to 100 km/h in the same 5.8 s.

Its battery pack totals 85 kWh, offering 443 km of autonomy according to Inmetro. Accepts recharges of up to 22 kW in AC (4.7 hours of recharge) and 150 kW in DC (48 minutes from 15% to 80%).

It is slightly smaller than the Blazer EV, measuring 4.84 m long. But it has a good wheelbase of 2.95 m. Its other measurements are 1.95 m wide and 1.65 m high, while the trunk is 411 liters.

Well equipped, the Equinox EV comes with an ADAS package with autopilot, lane keeping assistant, blind spot and door opening alerts and autonomous emergency braking. There are also cameras with 360º vision, an 11” digital instrument panel and a 17.7” multimedia center. The screens run the Google Built In system, allowing you to reproduce Google Maps images directly on the instrument panel.
