Finally, Toyota presented the restyled RAV4 to the international public. The large Japanese SUV underwent a profound change, but it did not change generation. The Japanese brand made changes to the bodywork, appearance, list of standard items and even the model range. In fact, this restyling killed the combustion version and now it can only be purchased in conventional or plug-in hybrid versions. And when will you come to Brazil?
The 2026 RAV4 can be purchased in the Core, Rugged and Sport lines and within them there are different versions. Core is the most affordable and offers LE, XLE and Limited. The Rugged line has the new Woodland version, with an adventurous style and the Sport has SE, XSE and the unprecedented GR-Sport. They all feature new LED headlights with a geometric design, a body-colored grille that connects the illuminators and air intakes with a size that varies depending on the version.
Thus, the large SUV conveys a more robust air. In the GR-Sport version, for example, the wide intake looks like a shark’s mouth, while the Limited’s looks like fish scales. On the sides, the restyled Toyota RAV4 always leaves the wheel wells protruding, side skirts marked, the belt line is high and the wheels can be 17, 18 or 20 inches and are made of light alloy.

At the rear, the trunk lid is more prominent and has a straighter cut. The bumper is more prominent, the lights are darkened, interconnected and the vertical illuminators are LED. In order to stand out from its siblings, the RAV4 2026 GR-Sport also has a large spoiler integrated into the roof. In fact, this version can be purchased in the new Supersonic red color with a black roof. And the Woodland variant can be chosen in the Urban Rock tone.
The length varies from 4.59 m to 4.61 m, depending on the version. The wheelbase is 2.69 m and the height varies between 1.68 m and 1.72 m. In fact, the restyled Toyota RAV4 Woodland is among the tallest, as it has all-terrain tires that increase its height from the ground by up to 13 mm. This way, the SUV faces off-road challenges without so much pain. The platform follows the current TNGA-K.

However, the chassis joints, addition of a system that reduces micro-vibrations and improves acoustic insulation and changes in structural rigidity are new. The RAV4 GR-Sport also has a more rigid chassis and exclusive suspension and steering adjustments. All of this was taken care of by Gazoo Racing, the Japanese brand’s sports division. With all the changes, the new-look RAV4 had a slight increase in the trunk, which now accommodates 749 liters.
There are people who won’t like it
In the cabin, the instrument panel is 12.3 inches in all versions. The multimedia center can be 10.5 inches or 12.9 inches. Head-up display is an option for more expensive versions. The restyled RAV4 also debuts the Arene software system. It takes care of the functioning of connectivity features and the SUV also showcases the unprecedented Toyota Safety Sense 4.0.

This system is one of the brand’s semi-autonomous driving items. The center console has been redesigned, has several storage compartments and can be finished in fabric or even perforated ultrasuede. The Woodland version has an exclusive coating and a normal gear lever (the others have a selector). And the Gr-Sport has aluminum cranksets and Gazoo Racing badges. The sound system is JBL Premium Audio nine speakers.
However, there is one detail that can irritate drivers. The restyled Toyota RAV4 does not have as many physical control buttons. The air conditioning, for example, is controlled by specific buttons installed on the bottom of the multimedia center.
Bye 100% combustion version
Another change that the restyling brought to the SUV was the end of offering 100% combustion versions for the United States. Now, Americans who want a 0km RAV4 will only be able to buy it with a conventional or plug-in hybrid system, something that Brazilians are already familiar with. The combustion engine is a 2.5 aspirated four-cylinder engine that is connected to a self-charging propellant (HEV) and or can be charged externally (PHEV).
Conventional hybrid versions with front-wheel drive have 229 hp and 239 hp with all-wheel drive. The 2026 RAV4 PHEV only has all-wheel drive and 324 hp. In fact, this variant now has a 22.9 kWh capacity and lithium-ion battery. It can be charged using a direct current socket and needs 30 minutes to charge from 10% to 80%. The electric range for the international cycle is 100 km.

If North Americans opt for a front-wheel drive version, they have a towing capacity of 794 kg. With all-wheel drive, the resource can handle up to 1,588 kg. It should arrive at American dealerships by the end of 2025 and prices have not yet been revealed. His arrival in Brazil is expected, but later.
