Electric Chevrolet Equinox has a discount Kwid to pack in sales

The electric Chevrolet Equinox arrived in Brazil in October 2024, but has not yet achieved sales. Proof of this comes from the report by the Brazilian Electric Vehicle Association (ABVE), which points to only 28 units sold in the first seven months of 2025.

To try to overcome the situation, Chevrolet is offering a Renault Kwid at a discount, that is, a deduction of R$90,000 from the list price. Thus, the Equinox EV goes from the R$440,190 previously ordered to R$349,990.

It is worth remembering that the previous price placed it at a value level for premium electric vehicles, such as the BMW iX1 or Volvo EX40. With the new price, General Motors intends to recover some ground with its SUV.

The Equinox EV is a large car, measuring 4.84 meters long, 1.95 m wide, 1.65 m high and with a wheelbase of 2.95 m. For comparison purposes, these measurements are close to those found in the Toyota SW4.

The SUV is equipped with two electric motors, each mounted on one of the axles – which guarantees four-wheel drive, and delivers 292 hp and 46 kgfm of torque. 0 to 100 km/h is done in 5.8 seconds, not bad for a 2.3 ton car.

The battery is made up of 240 cells and is guaranteed for eight years or 160,000 km. In total there is 85 kWh of capacity, which guarantees autonomy to travel 443 km according to the PBEV mediation cycle.

Recharging time is 4 hours and 42 minutes from a 22 kW source. If you prefer a fast charger, with 150 kW, recharging takes place in 48 minutes considering the replacement from 15% to 80%.
