“Leo from Chicago”: a journey to the roots of Robert Francis Prevost

The Vatican has released “Leo from Chicago”a documentary that reconstructs the history and roots of the cardinal Robert Francis Prevostprefect of the Dicastery for Bishops. The production, presented by the Editorial Directorate of the Dicastery for Communicationcombines interviews, archives and unpublished audiovisual material to offer a close look at the American prelate.

The tour begins in Doltona Chicago suburb where Prevost grew up with his siblings Louis y Johnwho share family memories and anecdotes from their childhood. The documentary follows his journey through schools, universities and religious communities, highlighting the testimonies of teachers, fellow students and members of his congregation.

Led by journalists Deborah Castellano Lubov, Salvatore Cernuzio and Felipe Herrera-Espaliatthe film seeks to show not only the biography of the cardinal, but also the values ​​and spirituality that marked his vocation to the service of the Church.
