Jared Leto faces difficult time in Hollywood after film failure

Jared Leto, 53, known for acclaimed works such as “Dallas Buyers Club” (2013) and “Panic Room” (2002), will need to regain the trust of the studios after the disappointing performance of “Tron: Ares” (2025).

What happened

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the film grossed just US$66 million in its first week, well below its estimated budget of US$180 million. Marketing expenses were not included in this number. For the executives, the main problem was the public’s lack of interest in the story, which had already had two previous versions, in 1982 and 2010.

In addition to the box office, Leto’s reputation is also under pressure. Allegations of sexual misconduct involving nine women, published by the Air Mail website in June, even point to alleged flirtations with minors, accusations that the actor vehemently denies.
