The health risks of ultra-processed foods (UPFs) has become a popular topic of debate in the online wellness space. There’s a new wave of influencers encouraging us to analyse food labels in supermarkets and avoid products that contain additives and are high in sugar, salt and saturated fat.

Joe Wicks, AKA The Body Coach, has weighed in by launching a campaign to highlight the dangers of UPFs and call for a change in how they are advertised and sold. But is this campaign helpful and effective, or a PR stunt with potentially damaging effects?
