New Netflix hit, Caramel has been winning hearts on streaming. Debuting in first place among the most watched films on the platform in Brazil, the film follows a chef, played by Rafa sawwho discovers a cancer diagnosis, but manages to maintain optimism and joy in life thanks to a stray he finds on the street and with whom he forms an unshakable bond.

Highlighting the mongrels that have become a symbol of Brazil, Caramel becomes another chapter in the long story of love and companionship between humans and dogs that has already been highlighted in cinemas.

The two then decide to live together until the end of the canine pregnancy. Just like their pets, the two end up getting closer, discovering a connection they didn’t expect after the date turbulent.

Dog – The Adventure of a Lifetime (2022)

Dog – The Adventure of a Lifetime tells the story of Jackson (Channing Tatum) and the dog Lulu, both decorated veterans of the US army who need to travel across the United States to get to another soldier’s wake. Although they don’t like each other at all at first, the trip makes them open up, forming a close bond of loyalty and trust.

Bud – The Friendly Dog (1997)

Children’s classic, Bud – The Friendly Dog tells the story of Josh (Kevin Zegers), a boy who loves basketball, but loses his joy after his father’s death. By chance, he meets Bud, a friendly golden retriever capable of some incredible tricks with a basketball. The duo then joins the school team, becoming the sensation of the championship.

Originally released in 1997, Bud – The Friendly Dog gave rise to a franchise of 14 films, which have already placed the dog (and his puppies) in different sports and fantastic adventures — including moments as superheroes and Santa’s helpers. A new sequence, Air Bud Returnswill be launched in 2026.

On the Way Home (2019)

After the dog Bella (voiced in the original version by Bryce Dallas-Howard) run away from home and be confiscated by the local animal control department, Lucas (Jonah Hauer-King) decides to send her to her aunt’s farm while he looks for a new place to live with her. The dog, however, escapes again and begins a journey of more than 600 kilometers to return to her owner, exploring nature, making unlikely friends and facing the difficulties of living on the street.

101 Dalmatians (1996)

Live-action version of the animated classic, 101 Dalmatians follows the journey of Pongo and Perdita, two Dalmatians who had their puppies stolen by the evil fashion designer Cruela DeVil (Glenn Close), who kidnapped 101 puppies of the breed to make a fur coat. While the parents cross the country, the puppies and their new friends make life hell for the villain’s henchmen until they manage to escape and try to return home.

Beethoven: The Magnificent (1992)

Beethoven, an adorable and clumsy Saint Bernard puppy, becomes an important member of the Newton family, but ends up the target of an evil veterinarian who experiments on big dogs (Dean Jones). Led by patriarch George (Charles Grodin), the dog’s owners begin to investigate his disappearance, determined to take the pet back home.
