August 7th
- An Even Crazier Friday
Direct sequel to the classic Disney comedywith returns from Jamie Lee Curtis as Tess and Lindsay Lohan as Anna, now a mother dealing with her daughter Harper and her own mother. New body swaps between the four women in the family cause comical and emotional confusion, mixing nostalgia, family humor and lessons in empathy and identity.
- Dracula – A Story of Eternal Love
Under the direction of Luc Besson, the fantastic drama It stars Caleb Landry Jones as the disillusioned vampire prince, Christoph Waltz and Zoë Bleu as Elisabeta. After the death of his beloved in the 15th century, the prince abandons God, becoming the legendary Dracula, in search of redemption and revenge, in a dark novel that mixes horror and fantasy.
Directed by Zach Cregger and starring Julia Garner and Josh Brolin, Dark Hour is a full meal for those who love films of terror filled with mysteries. The title is “a horror epic of several interrelated stories about the disappearance of high school students in a small town.”
August 14
More horror? It’s for now! If you are longing for scares and supernatural storiesalso keep an eye on Juntos, with Dave Franco and Alison Brie. “A couple’s move to the countryside triggers a supernatural incident that drastically alters their relationship, their existence and their physical form,” says the feature film’s synopsis.
National film directed by Fernando Coimbra, The Hanged Men is freely inspired by Macbeth and stars Leandra Leal and Irandhir Santos as a couple involved in the Animal Game in Rio de Janeiro. In the plot, after killing Valério’s uncle to take over the business, the couple plunges into a spiral of crime, paranoia and violence that destroys their relationship.
- Run, the Police Are Coming!
Continuing the famous franchise comedy moviesRun, the Police Are Coming! promises to make many people fall out of their seats at the cinema laughing so hard. Directed by Akiva Schaffer and starring Liam Neeson, the project follows a completely confused police officer (Neeson) who is capable of getting involved in the most absurd situations.
Lively family comedy to enjoy with the whole family? We have! In this sequel, “Mr. Lobo’s” group tries to abandon the criminal life, but is forced into one last coup by a group of female criminals. The voice cast includes Sam Rockwell, Craig Robinson and Anthony Ramos. Another adventure full of action, twists and agile humor!

If you like action films in the footsteps of John Wickstay tuned so you don’t miss Anonymous 2, the sequel to the 2021 hit with Bob Odenkirk. “Suburban father Hutch Mansell, a former lethal assassin, is drawn back to his violent past after thwarting a home invasion, setting off a chain of events that reveals secrets about his wife Becca’s past,” the plot explains.
- Luiz Gonzaga – Légua Tirana
Directed by Marcos Carvalho and Diogo Fontes, Luiz Gonzaga – Légua tirana is another great brazilian film which hits the big screen this August. The story focuses on Gonzagão’s childhood and youth and shows how the artist’s work was shaped by his origins in the northeastern backlands.

- Bambi: A Forest Adventure
Directed by Michel Fessler and starring Mylène Farmer (voice), this live-action film uses real animalswithout CGI, in a documentary style. The plot follows Bambi from his mother’s first steps and teachings, through his friendship with Faline, the mourning of his mother’s loss and his maturation under the tutelage of his father, the Prince of the Forest. A celebration of nature and animal resilience
drama Science fiction Brazilian directed by Gabriel Mascaro and starring Denise Weinberg, Rodrigo Santoro, Miriam Socarrás and Adanilo. Set in an almost dystopian Amazon where elderly people are exiled to colonies, the protagonist Tereza sets out on a last journey through the rivers to fulfill her greatest desire — a poetic portrait of resistance, memory and nature.
To close the list, another film for lovers of the most horrifying genre in cinema: Rosario. “Rosario spends the night with her grandmother’s body while waiting for the ambulance to arrive. During a heavy snowfall, Rosario is attacked by supernatural entities that have taken control of her grandmother’s body”, reveals the synopsis. Chilling!
