On television, recent years have been marked by an abundance of good new series. Look at the best of 2023, and you’ll quickly see things like Xogum, Sr. e Sra. Smith, Ripley, Fallout, Baby Reindeer e Penguin. It’s true that they are all based on some pre-existing material, but still, each of these represents the beginning of a new story.
It’s much rarer to find things like Industry, which had its third season, or Slow Horseswho released the fourth. Second seasons even happen, but we don’t live in a market with series moving forward in their narratives, and those that get there often take two years in long hiatuses. Fortunately, a considerable number of them return in 2025.
The always reliable Slow Horses will have its fifth season, The Bear go to fourth, The Others e Interview with the Vampire for the thirds. Daredevil: Reborn is, in practice, the fourth season of the series Marvel which started on Netflix.
But if there is one theme that will mark the year, it is this: goodbyes. Andor, Stranger Things, The Summer That Changed My Life, The Handmaid’s Tale e Cobra Kai will come to an end, to name a few examples. Everything indicates that The Bear will also close the kitchen doors. Television will look different after the end of 2025.
