1. The Black Phone (2021)
Directed by Scott Derrickson (The Exorcism of Emily Rose) and based on the short story by Joe Hill, the film takes place in Denver, Colorado, in 1978, and tells the story of Finney Shaw, who is kidnapped at the age of 13. The person responsible for the kidnapping is the masked serial killer “The Grabber”, who traps him in the basement with a broken phone. He starts receiving calls in which the voices of previous victims try to help him escape from captivity.

2. Anatomy of a Fall (2023)
Winner of the Palme d’Or at Cannes and directed by Justine Triet (Victoria), the film follows Sandra Voyter, a writer and translator accused of murdering her husband during a ski trip in the Alps. The plot unfolds in a court, where each statement reveals complex layers of the couple’s relationship and questions what they really call “guilt”.

3. The Others (2001)
Directed by Alejandro Amenábar (Abre Los Ojos), the British gothic thriller takes place in 1945 and follows Grace Stewart (Nicole Kidman), who lives in an isolated house with her two photosensitive children. When mysterious employees arrive for work, Grace begins to suspect that the mansion is haunted. But the truth is even more disturbing.

4. We Need to Talk About Kevin (2011)
Directed by Lynne Ramsay (Precisely Perfect), the film is adapted from the novel by Lionel Shriver. We follow Eva, Kevin’s mother, a young man who commits a massacre at school. The intercut montage reveals clues about the growing tension in her relationship with her son, a cold and uncomfortable study of motherhood, guilt and violence.

5. The Beekeeper (2025)

7. Nosferatu (2025)
